Short history of gastronomy in Żabka  how to talk about "difficult" topics in an engaging way?

At Alchemiq Studio, we know that even the most complex topics can become an engaging story. We proved this during the creation of the animation “The History of the Gastro Zone.”

Industry: FMCG / Client: Żabka / Agency: Alchemiq Studio

Our challenges?

Finding an aesthetic that allows for quick adjustments, high time pressure before launch day, the importance of the event, and a demanding topic—how to tell this story in an engaging way?

Our solutions?

Firstly, the visual style. We decided on contemporary digital collage. We chose this style because it allows for efficient modifications and introduces visual lightness to the narrative.

The most important thing is a creative concept and storytelling that makes the story flow smoothly. We nailed it this time as well. We told the story of an EPOCHAL GASTRONOMIC REVOLUTION! From the Big Bang, through the Crunchy Hotdog Era, the Age of Great Discoveries, the Green Enlightenment, Young Poland, to the Crunchy Generation Żet.

Our story needed heroes—customers representing different shopping missions and inventions: functional objects enabling these revolutions.

We conducted a casting, a photo shoot, and then—each hero was cut out from a green screen. We added animated outlines to the characters and removed frames to create stop-motion animation matching the animated collage aesthetic.

For the animation, we created over 40 illustrations. Each epoch was given a distinct atmosphere, with lightness and energy being key to the reception.

We had a huge screen to fill with our animation.

The result?

A story that entertains, engages, and fulfills its purpose. A concept that worked both at the event and as promotional material. Audience applause and an invitation to continue working with one of the biggest brands in Poland!
